Arbor South Takes Next Step Forward

Oxford CompaniesAnn Arbor Businesses, New Development

Oxford Companies is thrilled to announce that the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) has approved the Arbor South project to move forward, a milestone for a development that has been years in the making.

What Arbor South Will Bring

Upon completion, Arbor South will become a major hub for the city — a true destination featuring a mix of retail, restaurant and entertainment venues, both local and new to Ann Arbor. The multi-phase project is anticipated to include approximately 1,000 residential units, 200 affordable homes and over 100,000 square feet of retail and dining space ,and multiple community gathering spaces.

Conveniently adjacent to I-94, Arbor South is located at East Eisenhower Parkway and South State Street. Arbor South will combine housing, business, shopping, dining, and public gathering space in a  walkable, bikeable, and connected community. As Ann Arbor keeps growing, the development will allow more people to be able to live close to where they work, shop, and spend time, outside the limits of downtown.

Why This Matters for Ann Arbor

Arbor South will be the first project on the city’s south side to have received approval under the City of Ann Arbor’s TC1 zoning ordinance, an initiative designed to increase density in areas outside of downtown Ann Arbor with a focus on adding accessible housing to the market. Arbor South’s residential offerings will range from studios to 3-bedroom apartments.

Thank you to our partners at Crawford Hoying, the City of Ann Arbor, and Ann Arbor Housing Commission for their hard work and collaboration! By turning underutilized land into a vibrant new neighborhood, Arbor South will give a distinctive community  identity to the south side.
