Carpenter III

JOB SUMMARY: 
Carpenter III, under general supervision, performs work in the construction, repair and maintenance of structures and related physical facilities.

JOB DUTIES: 

The Carpenter III is responsible for the full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work which includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Constructing, remodeling, retrofitting and repairing interior and exterior structures as directed by the Foreman.
  2. Assists the Foreman in daily duties as required for each project.
  3. Provide site-specific oversight of commercial carpentry crew of 2-5 members (Carpenter Apprentice, I’s, II’s, and III’s).
  4. Ability to work from blueprints, specifications, drawings and instructions to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair various types of facilities and structures.
  5. Preparing takeoffs and order self-perform building materials (carpentry items).
  6. Fulfilling all regular and advanced installation/construction duties, including project layout.
  7. Attending weekly carpentry labor scheduling meetings.
  8. Maintaining and applying general knowledge of Oxford and Yellowstone building standards and construction specifications to ensure compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations.
  9. Has general knowledge Oxford building standards, construction specifications, and is compliant with applicable building and safety codes and regulations.
  10. Maintaining a clean, hazard free work area.
  11. Maintaining and safekeeping all company equipment, tools and vehicles; and maintaining appropriate work and repair records.
  12. Promptly and properly record all work performed and work hours.
  13. Supervising all carpenters on current jobsite.  Assist in completing performance reviews.
  14. Responsible for organization and maintaining receipt log for all material, tool & vehicle purchases.
  15. Overseeing daily carpentry efforts; coordinating with Project Managers and Superintendents.

                              SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

                              The Lead Carpenter supervises the Carpentry crew on the current jobsite they are working on.

                              JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

                              1. High school diploma or GED, supplemented by completion of a trade school apprenticeship program that includes theory and on-the job work.
                              2. 5+ years of experience working as a carpenter in a commercial, industrial or facilities operations setting, including rough and finished carpentry.
                              3. Maintain professionalism with clients, team members and vendors.
                              4. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage; Ability to provide own transportation.
                              5. Must have own hand tools for use.
                              6. Ability to learn new technologies as required.
                              7. Perform all job duties with a positive attitude.

                                          PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS: 

                                          Employee will be regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. Employee will be frequently required to reach with hands or arms. Employee is frequently required to sit or stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs, and occasionally up to 100lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions, and occasionally be near moving mechanical parts and work in high areas. Safety best practice is to be executed. Noise level will be moderate to loud.
